Thought of the Day 12/23/22

12/23/2022 5:42 AM | Stan Price (Administrator)

I Corinthians 13 says this: "When that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away with." So all these little things of jumping up-and-down like a kid, trying to talk in tongues, and all these other things, when that which is perfect... And we do have today, by God's help, the perfect interpretation of the Word with Divine vindication. Then that which is in part is done away with. "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child; but when I become a man, I put away childish things." Amen. I go to preaching and then don't get to these things. ~ 64-0823E  QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 2

What is the “perfect interpretation of the Word”? Is it doctrine? That could be one aspect, but in the context of I Cor 13 the subject is Divine Love. God always interprets His Word by bringing it to pass. The word “perfect” is the Greek word “teleios”, which comes from the word “telos”, which means “the end”. Perfection is the end result of all things. The “perfect interpretation” of the end is for God’s complete thought of you to be manifested in a way you know WHO you are. It is seeing God’s Word in a way that makes you say “THAT’S ME!” Many say they are Bride, but how many are BEING the Bride in all their actions? That which is perfect is what Paul was pressing onto, the high calling in Christ.
